Powell 2010

Powell this year was fabulous! The weather was beautiful; no boats broke this year; very little wind; fewer people as most of them were working and/or at school. I posted more pictures on flickr and will only put the 5 star photos and the videos on the blog, but there are still lots of good one so you really should look!

This is Brian showing off his skills; fancy stuff in the beginning, big air and grabs. Also notice the legendary life jacket known as "little pink."

Our family is inventive. Nana and the boys were trying to create a moat and were having trouble getting water in it. Here's the solution-

Me wake boarding-not nearly as exciting as Brian, but proof that I can do it. My big accomplishment of this year was making it across both sides of the wake. And if you watch the whole thing there is a little "dance move" at the end :)

More of Brian. This time he switches to goofy footed in his jump.

This is all goofy footed, which is the equivalent of doing something left handed when you are right handed. Do you see how he still looks better "left handed" than I do "right"? It's a good thing he didn't marry me based on my boarding skillz.

And finally the non ocean version of surfing-

These are my cute in laws. They are both 60 and look how in love and awesome they are!

I didn't put up any video of Matthew tubing, because let's face it-the kid is adorable, but watching tubing is boring. But here is how he felt about tubing-

He was so cute to ride with. He was out there giggling and wanting more bumps while Mommy is trying to calm down and realize that some bumps are okay. We went over the hand signals of when he wanted to stop and he never used them.

Our beautiful ride

I don't know who had more fun playing, Nana or the boys.

Rachel didn't spend a whole lot of time outside because of the lack of shade, but she did get to feel the sand between her toes.

There was lots of fishing, boat races, sea doo rides, board games and playing in the sand.

Even Rachel was worn out from being so cute all the time (this is the day after we got home)-

Fun in Utah

After my brother's wedding we were able to hang around a few days before heading down to Lake Powell. Brian did a lot of mountain biking and we went up to the U to see some of his old coworkers. We also got to have dinner with our friends Ashley and Sean and play Canasta with Ryan and Christy. It was such a nice break!
There are more pictures on our flickr account if you want to see all the fun!

Matthew and I went on a tour of the candy factory that my roommate from my freshman year of college set up. We couldn't get her twin boys to be in the picture, but you get the general idea.

I got to see my sister Becky's soccer game. We had quite a few people there to cheer her on. I told the family that whoever yelled the loudest loved her the most :)
This is her laughing/running away/telling us to be quiet.

She is a superstar and was on the news a few nights ago. Here's the link-

We took TRAX up to the U and to the planetarium.

Here Matthew is walking on Mars.

The boys were fascinated by this big contraption.

I had to post this picture cuz it's so silly. My sister was donating their toaster to the newlyweds (this had been arranged before the wedding). She brought it over and set it in the pile of presents. Some of our family members were unaware of this and were confused as to why someone would give a used, unwrapped toaster.
It looks like they were pretty happy with it though!

I didn't take any pictures of this, but on our way to Powell we stopped in Ephraim to visit my old stomping grounds and my uncle. We also went to Roy's, formerly known as Fat Jack's, aka the best pizza place ever. And we can assure you that although the name is different the pizza is still the same. It tasted unbelievably good! And I only felt a little bit guilty the next day when Rachel was mad about mommy eating cheese . . . .
