Soft answer

Sometimes motherhood is just not all it's cracked up to be; I'm sorry to say. Yesterday was one of my worst moments. I definitely did not use a soft answer :( I hope that I've learned my lesson though. My sweet boy was the one comforting me when I should have been comforting him. Later I was thinking about the scripture "a soft answer turneth away wrath." I had always thought my giving a soft answer would turn away another person's wrath. It occurred to me that I've been wrong about this. Ultimately I can't control what another person feels or does. I think that a soft answer will actually turn away my wrath. I resolved to never lose control of myself like that again. Today Matthew was more difficult than yesterday, but I didn't feel like I did yesterday. Hopefully, this is the start of some better habits on my part.

Fall and Winter

Last week the preschool went to Nick's Garden Center. Sadly, it was our first time there, but we will certainly be going every year from now on.

There were lots of cute little picture spots, but my poor little guy was too short to really be seen :(

He had a lot of fun at the bean bag toss; I think this is where he spent most of his time.

This guy just makes me laugh! This is in the corn maze and he was thoughtful enough to wave to me as he ran past.

They had corn kernel pits with dump trucks and a bridge in between them.

Our little preschool; I'm crouched behind holding Matthew up (thanks to Peggy for taking the picture for me).

And winter!
First snowman of the season.
Seriously, this kid is funny! In the picture before this his eyes were closed so I instructed him to make sure his eyes were open. I think he was so focused on his eyes he forgot to smile.

Check out my craftiness :)

I feel like I am just not a very crafty person any more, but I'm still trying. Here are the projects I've been working on the last few weeks.

K, so before you all start thinking how wonderful I am, I have to confess that I have had this since our ward's Super Saturday . . . last November. But it's finally done, except for the hanging apparatus.

My mom brought me this pillowcase set last month. Matthew loves it!

And this isn't quite done either, but close. I need to get the face stitched on, but I wanted to do this post so I took the picture anyway.

Lair o' the Bear hike

We went on a hike today with some of our friends.
Brian and Matthew got a little bit of "fishing" in before the hike (and by fishing Matthew tried to catch leaves).

The little walkers on the trail. Matthew kept saying he was looking for a golden treasure.

Not sure what he's doing, but he looks cute :)

First snow

On the first day of fall it snowed for a few minutes at our house-

Fire station field trip

We took the preschoolers on a field trip and I think it went really well. The firefighters were really cute. The kids actually knew some of the answers from our class time earlier in the week. I was excited that they were paying attention. :)

The kids were crawling under the "smoke."
